The Nursery here at Babylon has been in this location since 1966 and has evolved with every owner since then. We are fortunate to have one of the largest greenhouses in the county and grow the majority of our stock onsite.
Our aim is to work closely with local suppliers as well as cultivating plants indigenous to East Sussex.
We are open Tuesday - Sunday each week and our team of staff are on hand to answer questions and offer advice on planting and caring for your garden.
Laurel Tree Fruit Farm
Laurel Tree Fruit Farm grows English Apples and Pears from its location at Boars Head just north of Crowborough on the A26. We started selling our own fruit direct to the public in 2002 with little more than a small farm kiosk by the A26 roadside. From this beginning, our customers have encouraged us to develop the farm shop that you now see. We have become a favourite local supplier, and customers tell us we are the best place to buy apples and pears for miles around.
Mid Sussex Timber
Mid-Sussex Timber is one of the largest stockists of Timber in Sussex. They also specialise in garden materials and can provide sleepers, fence posts, panels, trellis, garden tools & accessories. If you are also looking to build a garden project, MST have DIY kits ready with all the materials you need.
St Richards Church
We are a smaller family-friendly church made up of people from different walks of life, ages and stages. All sorts of people who have had their lives changed by Jesus! Our average Sunday attendance is around 70 people, a lovely mix of adults, children and young people. We love to welcome new faces and are confident you will feel right at home.

For over 25 years Sussex Country Gardener has been an independent family-run Garden Centre in the heart of East Sussex.
