Could you volunteer some gardening time?

    28/03/22

Most of the primary schools in Crowborough have growing areas where the children can learn where their food comes from. These need help in the form of regular input from gardeners to keep them in shape (especially during school holidays).

Could you offer an hour or two each week to help? For example, this might be to help prepare beds for planting, to advise on suitable plants for growing in different areas, to help plant natural spaces for children to enjoy. In some cases, the children will cook food they have helped to grow. You will not be expected to teach or supervise children and generally the schools will be flexible about when your visits take place.

If you’d like to get involved please contact David Martin at food@greentransitioncrowborough.org.uk.

    Refuse / Waste Area

    18/01/22

Efforts are currently in hand with CTC and the Head Groundsman, to hopefully improve the current waste management, which we consider to have deteriorated, and now be hazardous due to the state of the ground.

    Polytunnels

    09/12/21

After a recent site visit, Crowborough Town Council have expressed their concern over the erection of polytunnels on our site by some tenants.  These are unfortunately forbidden in the tenancy agreements.  Tenancy descriptions are vague, so we are requesting clarification of what dimensions constitute a 'polytunnel' as apposed to a 'large cloche'.  Until this is formally confirmed, we recommend members refrain from any further installations, or associated works and purchases. Thanks.
